PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The No. 10/10 Providence College men's hockey team earned a weekend sweep over No. 8/8 Colorado College with a 5-1 win at Schneider Arena on Saturday (Dec. 7). Nine different Friars tallied points in the win, headlined by Taige Harding's four-assist performance.

NOTES

- Neither team cracked the scoreboard in the opening frame, however the Friars dominated on the shot chart, outshooting Colorado College 15-3 through the first 20 minutes.

- Providence tallied the first goal of the night 5:34 into the second period, as Andrew Centrella fired a shot on net, making contact with Mbereko's helmet before popping into the air and falling into the goal. Tomas Machu and John Mustard each earned an assist on the opening score.

- The Friars doubled their lead seven minutes later, when Logan Will collected a John Mustard rebound up front before elevating the puck to the top corner to make it 2-0. Taige Harding was also credited with an assist in the effort.

- Colorado College pulled within one early in the third period, as Gleb Veremyev caught a piece of a Max Burkholder shot from the blue line before re-directing it in to make it 2-1.

- Providence extended their lead 12:34 into the third period, as Logan Sawyer corralled the puck in the offensive zone off a full-ice pass from Taige Harding, before connecting across the crease with Graham Gamache for the tap-in, his fourth goal of the season.

- The Friars tacked on their fourth goal of the night just a minute and a half later, as Mustard collected the puck off the boards before rifling it past Mbereko's glove-side to make it 4-1. Taige Harding and Logan Will each picked up assists on the play.

- With 26.8 seconds remaining in the third, forward Aleksi Kivioja buried the puck into the empty net from the Providence zone, giving the freshman his first collegiate goal and bringing about the final 5-1 score.

- Philip Svedebäck turned away 22-of-23 shots in the win, earning himself a .957 save percentage.

- Nine different Friars tallied a point in the win, headlined by Taige Harding's four-assist effort and a one goal, two assist showing from John Mustard.

- In total, 16 different players landed a shot on net in the win, paced by three-shot performances from Logan Will, Nick Poisson, and Logan Sawyer.

- Providence extended its winning streak to five games and improved to 4-1-0 against NCHC teams this season.
