ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team was defeated by #1 Wisconsin in game two of the weekend, 6-1, on Saturday at Alfond Arena.

After Wisconsin scored four in the first frame, Maine held their ground, winning the second period as Lily Fetch found the back of the net. Senior forwards Alyssa Wruble and Adriana van de Leest earned assists. Lily Fetch led Maine with five shots on goal.

Wisconsin snuck in two more goals in the third period. Maine goaltender Kiia Lahtinen was strong in net, making a career high of 55 saves.

Maine took only one penalty, a team-best, which they killed off successfully in the first period.

Maine returns to Alfond Arena to host Boston University of Dec. 6 and UConn on Dec. 7. Game times are set for 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm, respectively.
