WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team defeated Assumption University 6-0 for Family Day on Saturday afternoon in the Hart Center Rink. Junior forward Charlotte Sonntag made history recording the first hat trick in Hockey East era history.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the first period, sophomore forward Manny Gendron scored 14:15 into the first period. Gendron was assisted by freshman forward Amanda Aslan and freshman defender Kaitlin Sullivan.
- In the second period, freshman defender Sarah Rowe scored her first career goal 4:41 minutes into the second period, she was assisted by Aslan. Sonntag scored back-to-back goals at 7:24 minutes and 9:21 minutes and was assisted both times by sophomore assistant captain Emily Crovo and redshirt freshman defender Kenzee Hope.
- In the third period, Sonntag found the net again for her third goal of the game 13:54 minutes in, assisted by Crovo and senior defender Carmen Elliott. Senior forward Madison Michals scored the final goal of the game 14:46 minutes in, assisted by junior assistant captain Alexia Moreau.
- Holy Cross led Assumption 37-17 in shots on goal to conclude the game.
