BURLINGTON, Vt. - Callista Printz (Buffalo, N.Y.) scored her first career goal and Sedona Blair (Eden Prairie, Minn.) made 21 saves to lift the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team to Friday night's 1-0 win against the University of Vermont at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

Blair made seven saves in the first period, nine in the second and five in the third to record her second consecutive shutout, fourth of the season and ninth career.

Printz broke the scoreless tie with a power-play goal at 4:46 of the third period. The tally was set up by grad students Sara Boucher (Burlington, Ontario) and Chavonne Truter (Uxbridge, Ontario).

UVM goalie Jane Gervais made half of her 20 saves in the third period.

UNH extended its winning streak to three games to improve to 9-5-1 overall and 6-5-0 in Hockey East while UVM is now 3-10-2, 2-7-2.

FIRST PERIOD

- Vermont recorded a 7-4 shot advantage in the scoreless opening 20 minutes.

- The Catamounts went on the first power play at 14:59 but UNH's penalty kill did not allow a shot to get through to Blair.


SECOND PERIOD

- UVM had a 9-6 edge in shots in the scoreless second stanza.


THIRD PERIOD

- UNH went on its first power play of the game at 4:14 and scored 32 seconds later to take a 1-0 lead on what proved to be the only goal Friday night.

- Boucher corralled a loosed puck in the left circle and doubled back to the point to avoid a pair of UVM skaters. She snapped a pass to the right point, where Printz wristed a shot past a pair of Catamounts into the upper-right corner of the net. Truter, whose deflected shot sailed wide and was controlled by Boucher, was credited with the secondary assist.

- In a 4-on-4, both Julia Cabral (Lee, N.H.) and Kira Juodikis (LaSalle, Ontario) were denied at the doorstep by Gervais in the 14th minute.

- In the 18th minute, Boucher's dangerous opportunity was also stopped by Gervais.

- UVM pulled Gervais in favor of an extra skater with 1:28 on the clock and the Catamounts called time out eight seconds later.

- Josie Hemp and Kyla Bent sent shot attempts wide at 18:46 and 18:51, respectively.

- UNH's Marina Alvarez (Center Moriches, N.Y.) blocked another shot attempt at 19:15 and the Wildcats did not allow another shot the rest of the way to secure the win.

- Blair extended her shutout streak to 120 minutes, 21 seconds.

- She recorded a 19-save shutout win Nov. 16 vs. Holy Cross.

- Printz has a goal and two assists for three points this season.

- Truter is now tied atop the Wildcats' leaderboard in both points (10) and assists (seven).
