CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The No. 11 Boston College Women's Hockey team defeated No. 14 UConn 3-2 on Friday afternoon in Hockey East play at Kelley Rink.
UConn took the early lead. The Huskies scored seven minutes into the first period during a power-play attempt. Lauren Glaser tied the game in the 13th minute of the first period. In the second period, the Huskies broke the tie in the eighth minute, giving UConn a 2-1 lead.
The Huskies had a power-play late in the second frame. With only three seconds left on the power-play, Julia Pellerin had a breakaway, scoring a short-handed goal-this is the second of her career. The two sides were tied 2-2 heading into the final frame.
Lauren Glaser broke the tie in the ninth minute of the third period. Glaser was able to capitalize on a mistake by UConn's goaltender. This marks Glasers first multi-goal game in her career.
