BOSTON, Mass. -The Northeastern men's hockey team earned the extra point in a shootout win over New Hampshire after skating to a 1-1 tie in regulation.
- In game two between the Huskies and Wildcats, the first period was scoreless despite seeing 18 shots combined from both teams.
- The Wildcats were the first to strike with a tally just over five minutes into the second period for a 1-0 lead through two frames.
- Entering the final 20 minutes, Northeastern earned a power-play opportunity with almost six minutes off the clock. Just as time expired, senior Cristophe Tellier buried the rebound to tie the game 1-1. Freshman Ben Poitras, with his second assist in two games, found junior Jackson Dorrington at the point for a shot that led to Tellier's pick up.
- As the clock ticked away, neither team was able to break the draw in regulation or overtime. Both teams were unable to find the back of the net in the first two rounds of shootout before sophomore Dylan Hryckowian scored the shootout winner in round three.
- Through 65 minutes of action, sophomore goaltender Cameron Whitehead recorded 29 saves.
- Senior Ryan McGuire led both teams with a season-high 22 faceoff wins, while junior Vinny Borgesi tallied a game-high four blocks.
