Orono, ME - Four different Black Bears found the back of the net, including two goals from Owen Fowler as #7 Maine defeated #13/11 Boston University, 5-2 at Alfond Arena on Friday night.
Fowler scored the first and last goals of the contest as he netted an unassisted short-handed goal and later netted an empty-net goal for his second and third goals of the season.
Thomas Freel and Frank Djurasevic both had a goal and an assist while Harrison Scott and netted a goal for the Black Bears.
Notables:
- Boston University netted two goals in the third period.
- Maine outshot BU 34-25.
- Albin Boija made 23 saves moving to 7-2-1 on the season.
- Six different Black Bears tallied point including multi-point games from Brandon Holt, Thomas Freel, Frank Djurasevic and Owen Fowler who all had two points a piece
- Maine snapped a six game losing streak against the Terriers.
- The Black Bears were 2-for-6 on the power play and 1-for-6 on the penalty kill.
