STORRS, Conn. - Freshman Lisa Jönsson posted her first career shutout and junior Lily Shannon scored the game-winner to lead the Northeastern women's hockey team to a 1-0 victory over the No. 10 Connecticut Huskies on Friday night at Toscano Family Ice Forum.

- A scoreless affair until the third period, Lily Shannon hammered home the game-winning goal for Northeastern four minutes and 32 seconds into the frame. Shannon slotted home the goal after freshman Éloïse Caron played the puck back to her off a rebound from freshman Tuva Kandell's slap shot.

- Making her third career NCAA start, Jönsson tied her career-high with 24 saves to guide the Huskies to victory. It marks the Huskies second shutout of the season and the first of Jönsson's career.

- Northeastern led in shots, 35-24. Senior Tory Mariano tied to lead all players with three blocks.

- This win is NU's first over UConn since Feb. 10, 2023, and second victory at Toscano Family Ice Forum.

Northeastern and UConn will close out the two-game series at Matthews Arena on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1:30 p.m. The game will be available to watch on NESN and ESPN+.
