CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - On an emotional evening in front of a sold out crowd at Conte Forum, the second ranked Boston College men's hockey team scored three goals in the final 9:35 of the game to defeat No. 5 Maine by a score of 3-2 on Friday evening.

BC improves to 6-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in Hockey East, while Maine drops to 6-1-1 overall and 3-1-1 in league play.

With 1:33 remaining on the clock, Ryan Leonard (Amherst, Mass.) smashed home the winner after James Hagens (Hauppauge, N.Y.) and Gabe Perreault (Hinsdale, Ill.) connected to set up the game-winning tally.

Trailing 2-0 midway through the third, Andre Gasseau (Garden Grove, Calif) opened the scoring on the power play, smashing home a pass from Leonard. Mike Posma (Pomona, N.Y.) scored the equalizer after following up on a loose puck in the Maine defensive zone. Posma's initial shot was blocked, but once again followed up and tucked his shot inside the near post.

Maine took the lead late in the second period when Josh Nadeau capitalized on a faceoff win in the BC defensive zone, finding the back of the net. The Black Bears added to their lead midway through the final frame when Oskar Komarov was able to score on a wrap-around.

Jacob Fowler (Melbourne, Fla.) made a season-high 30 saves between the pipes tonight, earning his fifth-straight win and sixth overall for the season. Albin Boija made 27 saves for the Black Bears.
