BURLINGTON, Vt. - Nick Poisson tied the game with the extra attacker with 25.4 seconds left as the No. 13/12 Providence College men's hockey team rallied from two goals down in the final 7:01 to earn a 4-4 tie at Vermont on Saturday (Oct. 26) at Gutterson Fieldhouse. Hudson Malinoski scored the winning goal in the shootout while Zachary Borgiel stopped all three attempts he faced.

- Will Elger responded for the Friars 1:46 later with his second of the weekend after being sent down the left wing by a Taige Harding pass.
- Ryan O'Reilly gave Providence a 2-1 lead at the 3:51 mark with his first goal as a Friar, finishing off a cross-ice pass from Logan Will.
- The Catamounts countered with a pair of goals from Blake Steenerson and Massimo Lombardi to take a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes.
- Thomas Sinclair extended the Vermont lead to 4-2 at 7:12 of the third period.
- The Friars got back within one at 4-3 with 7:01 remaining as Graham Gamache got a piece of Guillaume Richard's shot for his first of the season.
- With Borgiel pulled for the extra attacker, Poisson one-timed a feed from Andrew Centrella past Rancier to tie the game at 4-4 with 25.4 left. Logan Sawyer earned his first-career point with an assist on the play.
- In the shootout, Borgiel denied Joel Maatta, Simon Jellus and Colin Kessler. Hudson Malinoski fired a shot under the glove of Rancier in the second round which proved to be the winner.
- Providence's unbeaten streak against Vermont was extended to 16 games (11-0-5) dating back to 2019.
