ORONO, Maine - David Breazeale scored with 36 seconds remaining in overtime to give the #9/10 University of Maine men's ice hockey team a 6-5 win and weekend sweep over #7/8 Quinnipiac on Saturday night at Alfond Arena.
The Black Bears took a 3-1 lead into the first intermission thanks to a short-handed goal from Taylor Makar and scores from Owen Fowler and Ross Mitton. Thomas Freel made it 4-1 Maine with a power-play goal just 55 seconds into the second period but the Bobcats responded with four unanswered goals. Quinnipiac took a 5-4 lead just under seven minutes into the third.
Brandon Holt's extra attacker goal with 28 seconds remaining sent the game to overtime where Breazeale fired home the game-winner.
