After a scoreless second period, BU tacked on another goal when graduate student Tamara Giaquinto scored on the power play. Senior goaltender Callie Shanahan recorded her second shutout of the season in the win, making 23 saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU pressured the Maine side of the ice through the first half of the opening stanza.

- Maine added 12 shots to BU's five and the Terriers went on the power play once in the second, but the score remained the same.

- With 4:08 to go, Maine was sent to the box for tripping.
- An initial wide shot from Reid bounced off the boards right to Giaquinto at the bottom of the circle on which she collected the puck and scored.
- Maine pulled its netminder in favor of an extra attacker with 1:14 to go in the third but still came up short as the Terriers held on for the 2-0 shutout.
