BOSTON, Mass. - The No. 13 Northeastern women's hockey team used a four-goal third period to earn a 4-2 come-from-behind victory over the Holy Cross Crusaders on Saturday evening at Matthews Arena. Freshman Lisa Jönsson earned her first career win with 17 saves against the Crusaders.
- A scoreless first period gave way to another back-and-forth battle in period two. Holy Cross ended the scoreless deadlock with a goal at the 16:13 mark to take a 1-0 lead into the final frame.
- Northeastern erupted for four goals in the third period. Sophomore Lily Shannon evened the score at 1-1 with the Huskies first goal with assists from senior Taze Thompson and junior Jules Constantinople. Sophomore Ella Blackmore gave the Huskies a 2-1 lead with Shannon and Taze Thompson picking up the assists.
- Junior Lily Brazis scored the eventual game-winner and her first career goal at the 12:37 mark of the third period. Junior Holly Abela and graduate student Katie Davis had the assists on Brazis' goal.
- The Crusaders scored at the 16:36 mark to bring themselves back within one. Graduate student Jaden Bogden put home an empty-netter to bring the final score to 4-2. Bogden had assists from freshman Éloïse Caron and sophomore Rylie Jones.
- In just her second NCAA start, Jönsson picked up her first career win and her first victory in Matthews Arena.
- Shannon and Taze Thompson both finished with multi-point efforts for the Huskies.
Northeastern next travels to Providence on Friday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.
