Zachary Borgiel stopped 31-of-32 shots in his first start as a Friar, while Hudson Malinoski led the way with a goal and an assist.

NOTES

- Neither team connected on offense through the first 40 minutes, giving the Friars and Sun Devils a 20-20 deadlock in shots on goal. Providence's efforts were highlighted by a Logan Will breakaway chance midway through the first period and a Logan Sawyer breakaway chance that was thwarted in the second.

- Providence broke open the scoring at the 5:54 mark in the third period, as Hudson Malinoski put away a Nick Poisson rebound for his second tally of the year. Tanner Adams also had an assist on the play.
