ORONO, Maine - The #9/10 University of Maine men's ice hockey team earned a 2-1 win over #7/8 Quinnipiac on Friday night in front of a sold-out crowd at Alfond Arena.
Nolan Renwick opened the scoring 6:42 into the game, coming down the left wing and wristing a shot to the far post. Charlie Russell then doubled the lead to 2-0 with 45 seconds remaining in the first period, finishing a rebound at the top of a crease.
The Bobcats pulled a goal back late in the second period with a power-play goal but the Black Bears held on for the 2-1 win.
