WORCESTER, Mass. - Battling back from a 4-2 deficit in the third period, the No. 13 Northeastern women's hockey team went on tie the Holy Cross Crusaders, 4-4, on Friday night at the Hart Center Rink. Northeastern picked up the extra Hockey East point with a 2-1 shootout victory.
- As time expired on a Crusader power-play, Holy Cross netted the first goal of the game at the 8:13 mark of the first period.
- In the second frame, the Huskies potted two to take a 2-1 lead. Senior Taze Thompson scored with helpers from senior Skylar Irving and sophomore Ella Blackmore. Junior Jules Constantinople then scored her first of the season on the power-play with a blast from outside the circle with assists from senior Tory Mariano and Taze Thompson.
- Holy Cross opened the third period with three-straight goals to take a 4-2 lead. The Huskies pulled senior netminder Paige Taborski for the extra attacker and managed to score twice to even the score at 4-4. Irving scored the Huskies' first extra attacker goal and freshman Morgan Jackson potted the second for her first career goal.
- The game officially ended in a 4-4 tie, but the two sides went on to a shootout to determine the extra Hockey East point. Freshman Éloïse Caron and Irving scored for the Huskies and Taborski made a stop in goal to earn the extra point.
- Taborski finished with 24 saves and her first shootout victory.
- Blackmore, Thompson and Irving all had multi-point efforts for the Huskies.
The Huskies will host the Crusaders on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. for their pride game.
