CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's hockey team skated to a season-opening 5-1 victory over Stonehill on Saturday night at Bridgewater Ice Arena.
Abby Newhook got the Eagles off and running in the first frame. Keri Clougherty gave BC the lead after Stonehill knotted it up to end the first frame with a 2-1 Eagles advantage. Molly Jordan came out in the middle frame to cushion the lead 3-1. In the final frame, Sammy Taber and Tricia Piku both scored to give the Eagles a 5-1 victory over Stonehill.

GAME NOTES
- Boston College had the 43-18 lead in shots on goal.
- Neither team capitalized on the power play, both teams went 0-for-6.
- Boston College holds an overall mark of 1-0-0 in the all-time series against Stonehill.
- The Eagles are now 18-12-1 all-time in season-opening games with a mark of 12-5-1 under head coach Katie Crowley.
- Grace Campbell and Bailey Callaway both saw action in the net. Callaway ended the night with six saves and Campbell ended with six on the night.
- Sammy Taber had two points on the night notching an assist and a goal.
- Tricia Piku scored her first career goal.
