UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The No. 13 Northeastern women's hockey team dropped to the No. 12 Penn State Nittany Lions, 2-1, on Friday afternoon, splitting their first series of the season.
- For the second night at Pegula Ice Arena, senior Skylar Irving tallied Northeastern's first goal of the night to take a 1-0 lead. Following a quick rush up the ice, driven by graduate student Jaden Bogden and freshman Éloïse Caron, Irving danced her way in front of the crease for the bury.
- In the middle frame, Penn State would go on to score two goals for a 2-1 lead.
- Northeastern started off strong in the third period but was unable to draw even as the clock ticked away.
- Senior Paige Taborski finished the evening with 22 saves, while senior Tory Mariano tied for a game-high three blocks.
The Huskies host Quinnipiac next weekend for their first home series of the season. Both games can be streamed on ESPN+.
