BOSTON- Sophomore Lily Shannon scored a pair of goals to guide the No. 13 and second-seeded Northeastern women's hockey team to a 4-1 Hockey East Semifinal victory over the New Hampshire Wildcats on Wednesday evening at Matthews Arena. With the win, the Huskies advance to their eighth-straight title game and will look to capture a record seventh-straight trophy.
- All five of the game's goals came in the third period as both sides were held off the score sheet through the opening two stanzas.
- Graduate student Peyton Anderson broke the scoreless deadlock with her 15th goal of the season just 1:26 into the third period. She had assists from her linemates junior Skylar Irving and fifth year Katy Knoll.
- New Hampshire tied the game at 1-1 at the 13:27 mark in the third with a goal from Chavonne Truter. Shannon had the response for the Huskies, scoring with one second remaining on the power-play to bring the score to 2-1 with 1:45 left to play in the game. She had assists from freshman Peyton Compton and sophomore Jules Constantinople.
- Northeastern went on to score two empty-net goals, with Irving and Shannon both potting one to bring the final score to 4-1 in favor of NU.
- Fifth year netminder Gwyneth Philips finished her day with 28 saves.
