CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sammy Taber scored 17 minutes, 23 seconds into overtime to help the Boston College women's hockey team top Providence, 2-1, in the Hockey East Tournament quarterfinal round on Friday Night at Kelley Rink.
With the win, the fourth-seeded Eagles now wait for the results of Saturday's Quarterfinals games for their semifinal opponent.
The Friars took a 1-0 lead early in the second period. Kate Ham put in the equalizer five minutes and 23 seconds into the second period. Neither team could break the tie in regulation sending the game to overtime. With under three minutes left in overtime, Sammy Taber put in the game-winning goal.

GAME NOTES
- Providence had the 47-35 edge in shots on goal.
- Both teams combined for six penalties ... neither side was able to covert on a power-play attempt.
- Boston College now holds a record of 45-43-4 ... BC has a mark of 24-20-3 against the Friars at Kelley Rink ..... BC is 39-14-3 against Providence under head coach Katie Crowley.
- Grace Campbell made 46 saves for Boston College ... this marked the first Hockey East postseason win for Campbell.
- Gaby Roy, Caroline Goffredo, and Julia Pellerin all were credited assists. Pellerin and Goffredo assisted on the first goal of the game. Roy dished the puck to Taber in overtime.
