CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's hockey team battled it out on Friday against Vermont.

Kaite Pyne started the Eagles' scoring a little over a minute into the game. Boston College held the 1-0 lead going into the second period.

The Catamounts quickly tied up the game in the second period at 1-1. Vermont had an opportunity to take the lead with a goal that was eventually called off, leaving the game still tied at one apiece. The Eagles got the lead off an own goal from Vermont. The Catamounts tied up the game with less than 30 seconds left in the second period.

Both sides remained deadlocked at 2-2 in the third period, sending the game to overtime. Neither team could score in overtime, sending the game to a shootout to decide who gets the extra point. Kara Goulding was first up for BC in the shootout. Goulding put away the only goal by either team in the shootout.
