BOSTON, Mass. - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team defeated the Boston University Terriers in a 3-1 victory Friday night at Walter Brown Arena.

Fifth-year forward Abby Latorella led the Black Bears with the game-winning goal and an assist in the win. Raegan Wurm and Bria Holm were Maine's other goal scorers, as Sam Morrison, Kennedy Little, Adriana van de Leest, Mira Seregély, and Elise Morphy each tallied an assist. Holm's goal was the first of her college career.

Maine led the game from start to finish, scoring one goal in each period, while the Terriers could only manage to sneak one past Maine's goaltender, Julia Bachetti, in the second period. Bachetti made 29 saves on the 30 shots she faced.

With four minutes left in the game, the Terriers pulled their goalie for an extra attacker, but Maine successfully fended them off until the final buzzer.

The Black Bears had 31 shots on goal and killed off both of Boston University's power play opportunities.
