ORONO, Maine - Donavan Villeneuve-Houle scored two goals as the #8 University of Maine men's hockey team topped UMass Lowell, 5-3, on Friday night at sold out Alfond Arena.
The River Hawks took a 1-0 lead less than three minutes into the contest but Villeneuve-Houle popped home a short-handed goal midway through the opening frame to equalize.
After a scoreless second period, Villeneuve-Houle scored on the power play followed less than a minute later by David Breazeale's second of the season to make it 3-1. Josh Nadeau then potted his 12th of the year with 3:18 to play. Over the final 90 seconds of the third, UMass Lowell sandwiched goals around a Harrison Scott strike for the 5-3 final score.
