WORCESTER, Mass. - The Merrimack Warriors Women's Hockey team picked up the win in their second game of the weekend and the win in their season series as they shutout the College of the Holy Cross Crusaders by a score of 2-0 on Saturday night.
The Basics
Merrimack (7-13-1, 4-9-1): 2, College of the Holy Cross (5-14-2, 2-11-2): 2
In the first period, Calli Hogarth made 20 saves to keep the game scoreless through one period.
In the second period, Raice Szott would fire home a Celine Tedenby rebound from in close to give Merrimack the lead at 9:49 of the period. Alex Ferguson would score their second goal of the period on the powerplay five minutes later.
Trying to protect the two goal advantage, Calli Hogarth would only have to turn away four more shots to preserve the shutout and the season series win against the Crusaders.
Notes and Numbers
- Raice Szott and Alex Ferguson both scored for Merrimack in the win.
- Ferguson also had an assist along with Teghan Inglis, Celine Tedenby and Payten Evans.
