ORONO, Maine - The Boston College women's hockey team was road-tested at Maine. The Eagles picked up their first Hockey East win of the second half of the season.
The Hockey Commissioner Association Rookie of the Month, Sammy Taber, recorded her first goal of 2024 six minutes into the first period. The Eagle had 13 shots on goal while only allowing Maine five shots on goal in the first period.
During the second period, it was a back-and-forth battle till the final seconds, where Maine scored, knotting it all up going into the last period. Maine got 20 shots on goal off in the second, while Boston College only fired off 10 shots on goal.
In the final period, Caroline Goffredo scored back-to-back goals within two minutes of each other to eventually lift the Eagles over the Black Bears. Maine tried to come back by cutting BC's lead down to one with a minute left in the game.

GAME NOTES
- The Black Bear had the edge on shot on goal with 41. The Eagles were able to fire off 33 tonight, with 13 coming in the first period.
- Caroline Goffredo and Sammy Taber both had three points tonight. Goffredo scored twice, dished out, and assisted. Taber scored and had two assists to end the night.
- This game saw three penalties in total. Neither team was able to convert on their power play attempts.
- BC picked up the series win against Maine after tonight's game.
- Grace Campbell was in the Net for the Eagles. She saved 39 shots while only allowing two goals.
