WEST POINT, N.Y. - Freshman forward Ryan Conmy (Alexandria, Va.) posted one goal and one assist for two points but the No. 16 University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to Army West Point, 6-3, on Friday night at Tate Rink. Barron Woodring scored two goals to lead the Black Knights. The 'Cats outshot the Black Knights, 45-14.

The Wildcats fall to 8-5-1, while the Black Knights improve 5-12-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Woodring gave the Black Knights a 1-0 lead at 6:02 of the first period when he sent the puck to the upper glove side of the net from the slot.

- Army increased its lead to 2-0 at 14:18 when Max Itagaki fired a one-timer to the back of the net from the bottom of the right faceoff circle.

- John Driscoll made it a 3-0 contest just 52 seconds after the opening faceoff of the second period when he scored on a wrist shot to the glove side of the net for the power play goal.

- The 'Cats scored their first goal of the game at 5:00 of the second period and on the power play when junior forward Liam Devlin (Needham, Mass.) tipped in a shot by junior defenseman Colton Huard (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) to cut the Army lead to 3-1. Conmy also posted an assist.

- The Wildcats then scored their second straight power play goal at 7:37 to make the score 3-2 as senior forward Nick Cafarelli (Middleton, Mass.) blasted a one-timer from the slot off a pass by freshman forward Nick Ring (Hingham, Mass.). Senior defenseman Luke Reid (Warman, Saskatchewan) tallied an assist on the goal.

- The Black Knights responded as Woodring scored his second goal of the night for the 4-2 advantage at 9:17.

- Just 11 seconds after the start of the third period, sophomore forward Cy LeClerc (Brentwood, N.H.) won the faceoff to Conmy who sent a wrist shot to the glove side of the net to cut the deficit to 4-3.

- But Army took back its two-goal lead with a power play goal by Joey Baez at 3:41.

- With just 27.7 seconds left in the third Brent Keefer scored an empty-net goal for the 6-3 final.

- UNH outshot Army 45-14.

- The Wildcats went 2-5 on the power play, while the Black Knights went 2-6.

- Sophomore goaltender Tyler Muszelik (Long Valley, N.J.) recorded eight saves, while Gavin Abric tallied 42 saves.
