DURHAM, N.H. - Grad student Jada Christian (Caledon East, Ontario) scored an unassisted goal and freshman goalie Sedona Blair (Eden Prairie, Minn.) made 19 saves to lead the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team to Friday night's 1-0 victory against College of the Holy Cross at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex.

Blair recorded a shutout for the second consecutive game and third of her career with the 19-save effort, which included seven saves in the first period.

HC's Madison Beck was credited with 27 saves.

The Wildcats improved to 8-7-1 (5-5-1 Hockey East) on the season and Holy Cross is now 4-9-2 (2-6-2).

FIRST PERIOD

- UNH took a 1-0 lead in the first period with an 8-7 shot on goal advantage.

- At 10:48, Christian came from behind the net to knock the puck into the net for the first - and only - goal of the game.

SECOND PERIOD

- The Wildcats outshot the Crusaders 12-6 in the second stanza.

- Holy Cross received the first power play of the game at 12:27, however UNH's penalty kill did not allow a shot to perserve the one goal advantage.

- Blair made an amazing save at 17:33 against Lane Lewis at the top of the crease in a 2-on-1 breakaway to keep the score 1-0.


THIRD PERIOD

- UNH outshot Holy Cross 8-5 and kept the one-goal advantage.

- During a scoreless Crusaders' power play, Blair defended the Wildcats' 1-0 lead with a save on Charlotte Sonntag's shot at 5:32

- Holy Cross was called for interference at 8:13, and Sydney Leonard (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) had a great scoring oppurtunity with a shot in front of the net as the power play expired.

- At 12:17, the Wildcats went on their third penalty kill of the game and Blair made two saves to keep the visitors scoreless.

- Blair denited Emilie Fortunato's initial shot and Millie Sirum's rebound opporutinity at 15:59 to keep the 'Cats in front.

- Holy Cross pulled Beck in favor of an extra skater with 1:16 remaining.

- The Crusaders were whistled for interference, however, 15 seconds later and Beck re-entered the game.

- Neither team recorded a shot the final 61 seconds.


GAME NOTEBOOK

- UNH recorded 28 shots on goal advantage over Holy Cross with 19.

- The Wildcats had a 21-16 edge versus the Crusaders in the faceoff circle.
