ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Freshman forward Ryan Conmy (Alexandria, Va.) scored two goals but the No. 10 University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to No. 20 Rochester Institute of Technology, 5-4, on Friday night at the Gene Polisseni Center.
The Wildcats fall to 6-3-1, while the Tigers improve to 8-3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- At 1:34 of the first period, Tanner Andrew sent a loose puck to the upper glove side of the net to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
- Then at 3:05, Tyler Fukakusa tipped in a shot by Xavier Lapointe to increase RIT's advantage to 2-0.
- The Wildcats cut the RIT lead to 2-1 at 3:24 of the second period when senior defenseman Nikolai Jenson (Cold Spring, Minn.) sent a shot from the right side of the net that deflected off RIT goalie Tommy Scarfone to the back of the net. Senior forward Nick Cafarelli (Middleton, Mass.) and sophomore forward Kristaps Skrastins (Grobina, Latvia) each posted an assist on the goal.
- The 'Cats tied the contest at 2-2 when Conmy fired a shot from the right faceoff circle glove side. Sophomore forward Cy LeClerc (Brentwood, N.H) and junior defenseman Jack Babbage (Tully, N.Y.) each tallied an assist.
- The Tigers then scored three straight power goals with two in the second period and one in the third to move out to a 5-2 lead.
- Conmy scored his second goal of the game at 6:10 when he sent a shot from the top of the left faceoff circle to the upper glove side corner of the net for the power play goal. Junior defenseman Colton Huard (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) and LeClerc each posted an assist.
- The Wildcats made it a one-goal game at 9:37 when senior Harrison Blaisdell (Regina, Saskatchewan) knocked in a rebound off a shot by senior defenseman Luke Reid (Warman, Saskatchewan). Senior forward Cam Gendron (Hampstead, N.H.) also recorded an assist.
- The Wildcats went with an empty with 1:33 remaining but were unable to score the equalizer.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- The Wildcats went 1-7 on the power play, while the Tigers went 3-7.
