Burlington, VT - The University of Maine women's ice hockey topped number 14-ranked Vermont for a weekend sweep.
Fifth-year forward Ida Kuoppala netted two goals for the Black Bears including a short-handed goal in the first period and the game-winning goal in the third. Graduate forward Ann-Frederique Guay scored Maine's second goal on a power play opportunity in the second period and also picked up an assist on Kuoppala's game-winner.
Rahel Enzler earned two assists, with Elise Morphy, Alyssa Wruble and Haley Ryan tallying an assist apiece.
Goaltender Julia Bachetti saw her second game of the weekend making 26 saves in the win.
The Black Bears killed off three penalties successfully and went 1-for-3 on power play opportunities.
The last time Maine swept Vermont was in November of 2014.
The Black Bears return home on Dec. 1/2 for games with Vermont and Holy Cross.
