CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's hockey team topped crosstown rival Boston University in a 5-3 victory on Friday Afternoon.
Both teams went back and forth during the first period before BU found the back of the net 13 minutes into the first period. Katie Pyne found the back of the net early into the second period. The Eagles and Terriers traded goals in the second to make it a 2-2 heading into the third period.
The third period saw four goals. Kate Ham scored her first goal of the season to give the Eagles the go-ahead before the Terriers found the equalizer. Boston College answered the BU goal, with Gaby Roy scoring 16 minutes into the third and Abby Newhook adding on an empty net goal to make it a 5-3 victory for the Eagles.

GAME NOTES
- Today's win marks the Eagle's fifth consecutive win against Boston University.
- BC outshot BU for a total of 32 shots. The Terriers only had 30 shots on goal. Smigliani and Julia Pellerin lead the game with five shots on goal each.
- Katie Pyne and Sammy Smigliani lead the team in point with two. Both respectively found the back of the net and dished out an assist.
- The Eagles had seven blocked shots today, while the BU only got front of four shots. Cailin Flynn led the game with two blocked shots.
- This game only saw three penalties in total. The Terriers were able to convert on one of their two attempts. The Eagles did not convert on their lone power play attempt.
