WORCESTER, Mass. - The Merrimack Women's Hockey team took a two goal lead early, fell behind and came from behind to beat the College of the Holy Cross Crusaders by a score of 4-3 on Saturday night.


The Basics

Merrimack (5-8-2, 2-6-2): 4, College of Holy Cross Crusaders (3-6-2, 2-3-2): 3

Merrimack didn't take long to take the lead as Celine Tedenby scored 44 seconds into the first period, Sophie McKinley would double the lead six and half minutes later. Holy Cross would add two goals of their own in the first period however sending the game tied into the first intermission.

The Crusaders would take the lead less than three minutes into the second period on the powerplay, but Sophie McKinley would score her second of the game and third of the weekend tying game at three. Ally Qualley scored on the powerplay with less than 30 seconds to go in the second to re-establish the Merrimack lead.

In the third period, Calli Hogarth made seven saves to lock down a Merrimack victory.
