CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's hockey team split the weekend series against the Maine Black Bear with a 4-2 victory on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles took a 1-0 lead midway through the first off of the stick of Gaby Roy. Maine responded with two unanswered goals in the second period. With two minutes left in the second period, Sammy Simgliani found the back of the net to tie the game up at 2-2 heading into the third period. The Eagles did not let up on the offensive attack in the third period. Annaka Mettler found the back of the net for the game-winning goal. Sammy Taber sealed the 4-2 victory with an empty net goal with a minute left to play.

GAME NOTES

- BC had the 34-29 lead in shots on goal.

- BC went 1-for-3 on the power play, while Maine was 0-for-2.

- Boston College holds an overall mark of 37-10-1 in the all-time series with Maine... the Eagles are 22-7-1 against the Black Bears at home.

- Mettler recorded her first career goal. Roy scored her fifth goal of the season while Smigliani potted her third and Taber potted her second.
