WORCESTER, Mass. - Graduate student Peyton Anderson tallied her first career hat trick as the No. 13 Northeastern women's hockey team skated to a 4-2 victory over the Holy Cross Crusaders on Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center Rink.
- Senior Lily Yovetich started the scoring for both sides with her first career goal at the 16:55 mark of the opening frame. Yovetich's goal was assisted by junior Taze Thompson and graduate student Megan Carter.
- The Crusaders were able to tie the game at 1-1 before the end of the first period.
- Northeastern then retook the lead just under five minutes into the second with Anderson's first tally of the day, with helpers from sophomore Lily Shannon and fifth year Katy Knoll. Holy Cross knotted up the game once again at 2-2 three minutes later.
- The final frame opened with both sides tied up at 2-2, until Anderson broke through once again with the eventual game-winner at the 14:37 mark. Anderson had assists from freshman Allie Lalonde and Carter.
- Anderson then posted her third goal of the game to bring the final score to 4-2 with an assist from Carter.
- Fifth year netminder Gwyneth Philips posted 10 saves in her seventh win of the season.
Northeastern will next face Connecticut for a two-game series beginning on Friday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. in Matthews Arena. The game will be the Huskies' Barbie Land theme game.
