CHESTNUT HILL Mass. - Abby Newhook scored three minutes, 59 seconds into overtime to help the Boston College women's hockey team top #15 UConn, 4-3, in the home opener on Friday afternoon at Kelley Rink.
UConn opened the scoring off a goal from Jada Habisch at 5:31, followed by Ashley Allard at 8:12 in the first period. The Eagles then answered with three consecutive goals for a 3-2 lead heading into the third period. UConn added another goal late in the third period off a shot from Christina Walker at 12:33 that forced overtime. Newhook's game winner came in the final minute of overtime.
