DURHAM, N.H. - Freshman goaltender Sedona Blair (Eden Prairie, Minn.) recorded a career-high 35 saves but the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team was defeated 4-1 by No. 8 Quinnipiac University at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex on Saturday.
Classmate Sydney Leonard (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) scored UNH's only goal as her first career goal in the second period was assisted by senior captain Charli Kettyle (Perth, Ontario).
The Bobcats' Sadie Peart was the only player to record a goal and an assist. Kate Reilly and Maddy Samoskevich led their team in assists with two each. Quinnipiac goalie Logan Angers recorded 16 saves.
UNH moves to 2-2-0 overall and Quinnipiac improves to 4-0-0.

FIRST PERIOD
- Quinnipiac scored first on a power play at 12:20 on a shot by Labad. Reilly's outlet pass from the defensive zone set up the tally.
- The Bobcats scored again on a power play at 16:16 to lengthen their lead to 2-0 on a goal by Peart. Kendall Cooper and Samoskevich were credited with the assists.
SECOND PERIOD
- Jess Schryver scored a 4-on-4 goal at 9:04 to extend the advantage to 3-0. Zoe Uens and Reilly set up the tally.
- The Wildcats scored their first goal at 11:26 when Kettyle intercepted a pass a center ice and advanced the puck to Leonard, whose shot from the left point sailed into the upper-left corner of the net to close the gap to 3-1.
THIRD PERIOD
- Quinnipiac scored the only goal of the period at 16:46 by Nina Steigauf, who was assisted by Peart and Samoskevich.
GAME NOTEBOOK
- Quinnipiac was 2-for-4 on the power play while the Wildcats did not have a power play.
- UNH edged Quinnipiac in block shots 23-7.
- The Bobcats had a 35-18 edge in the faceoff circle and ended with a 39-17 shot advantage.
