New Hampshire Defeated by Minnesota, 8-1, at East/West Showcase

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) made 32 saves but the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team was defeated 8-1 by No. 4 University of Minnesota in Saturday evening's East/West Showcase finale at Ridder Arena.  

Boutilier made 10 saves in the first period, then stopped 13 of 15 shots in the second and made nine more saves in the final frame.  

Emily Pinto (Mulmur, Ontario) scored UNH's goal with Brianna Brooks (Whitby, Ontario) and Kira Juodikis (LaSalle, Ontario) credited with assists.  

Minnesota was led offensively by Grace Zumwinkle (two goals, four assists), Abbey Murphy (two goals, two assists) and Ella Huber (one goal, two assists). Makayla Pahl made seven of her 15 saves in the first period.  

UNH moves to 7-16-0 while the Golden Gophers extended their winning streak to six games to improve to 16-3-2.
