Box Score

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The No. 18/19 Northeastern men's hockey team dropped a long battle to Union College, 3-2, on Saturday night at the Achilles Center.

"We are obviously a group that's playing without a lot confidence right now. It's not an effort issue. It's an identity issue," said Fernie Flaman Head Coach Jerry Keefe. "Good teams play with their identity no matter what. No matter the situation they don't sway from it. We as an entire group need to get ourselves out of this and that's how we will do it."

- Northeastern tallied the first goal of the game just over the half point of the opening frame. The freshman, Jack Williams, forced a Union turnover in the neutral zone for a give-and-go the other way with Jack Hughes before Williams scored for a 1-0 advantage.

- Union would open scoring 12:54 into the second period on a breakaway opportunity from Owen Farris for a 1-1 score.

- As the second period continued, the Huskies would once again take the lead with 3:12 remaining. Justin Hryckowian lit the lamp, for his tenth of the season, with assists from Aidan McDonough and Braden Doyle.

- Union's Liam Robertson would add one final goal to the scoreboard with 53 seconds remaining to send us into the second intermission knotted at 2-2.

- The Dutchmen went on to score the lone goal in the final frame to claim a 3-2 win.

- Netminder Devon Levi finished his day with 13 saves, while Hunter McDonald led the Huskies with five blocks.

The Huskies continue their road tilt this Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Sacred Heart, beginning at 7 p.m.
