Sophomore forward Abby Newhook scored in overtime for the Eagles

WORCESTER, Mass. - Abby Newhook scored two minutes into overtime to push the Boston College women's hockey team past Holy Cross, 2-1, on Friday night at the Hart Center Rink.  

A scoreless first period gave way to the team's trading goals in the opening three minutes of the middle frame. Cailin Flynn's second of the year put BC up but the Crusaders answered 90 seconds later.

The third period saw no goals before the Eagles killed off a penalty to start overtime before Newhook wristed home the game-winning goal from the left circle.

GAME NOTES

- BC now holds a 12-0-0 record in the all-time series with Holy Cross ... the Eagles are 6-0-0 at the Hart Center ... head coach Katie Crowley is 12-0-0 all-time against the Crusaders.

- Boston College did not have a power-play opportunity while keeping Holy Cross to 0-for-2.
