UConn Shut Out By Cornell, 6-0, At Madison Square Garden

NEW YORK, NY. - The UConn men's hockey team dropped a 6-0 decision Saturday night against Cornell in a non-conference matchup at Madison Square Garden.

The Huskies fall to 10-3-3 with loss while the Big Red improve to 6-4-0.

Cornell opened the scoring early as Dalton Bancroft collected a loose puck in front of the net 32 seconds into the start of the game and fired it past Logan Terness for the goal. Shortly after Cornell scored another off a loose puck in front of the net to take the 2-0 lead. The Big Red would net another before the end of the period to head into the period break with a three-goal lead.

Cornell increased their lead late in the second period as Dalton Bancroft scored his second and third goal of the game to give Cornell the 5-0 lead in the second period. Cornell's Ian Shane continued to blank the Huskies, making 13 saves through two periods. Cornell added one more goal in the third period to extend their lead to 6-0.

The Huskies went 0-2 on the power player and were outshot 22-16. Ian Shane made 27 saves to shut out the Huskies and improved to 5-3 with the win.
