NASHVILLE- Graduate student Maureen Murphy returned to the lineup after her stint with Team USA and promptly scored a hat trick to lead the No. 8 Northeastern women's hockey team to a 4-1 victory over No. 14 Princeton at the Smashville Women's Collegiate Hockey Showcase.

- The two teams played to a scoreless first period, but the Huskies came alive in the second period with two goals from Murphy. Murphy tallied her first goal at the 7:21 minute mark, with assists from graduate student Alina Mueller and freshman Jules Constantinople.

- Murphy's second goal of the period counted as the game-winner and was her ninth career shorthanded tally. The goal was assisted by graduate student Maude Poulin-Labelle.

- Princeton was able to get on the board with a goal in the early goings of the third frame to cut the deficit to 2-1. Northeastern responded and closed out the game with two more goals, both coming on the power-play, to push the final score to 4-1.

- The Huskies' first goal of the third came from senior Peyton Anderson with an assist from graduate student Chloé Aurard. Murphy then scored her third of the game, with assists from Peyton Anderson and Aurard.

- Murphy's hat trick was the eighth of her career, and second this season. She scored at even strength, shorthanded and on the power-play to claim the hat trick.

- Senior netminder Gwyneth Philips posted 26 saves for the Huskies in her NCAA-leading 15th win of the season.

The Huskies will close out their time at the Smashville Showcase with a matchup against No. 9 Cornell on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 4 p.m. EST.
