Box Score

HARTFORD, Conn. - The UConn Huskies take down UMass Lowell Saturday afternoon to take four of six points on the weekend. Jake Percival, Justin Pearson, Tabor Heaslip and Ryan Tverberg were the goal scorers for the Huskies, while freshman Arsenii Sergeev made 38 saves in the win.

UConn opened the scoring in the first period and never looked back. Ryan Tverberg circled the net and threw the puck in front of the net where it would eventually find the stick of freshman Jake Percival who would tip it in for the first goal of the game. Shortly after, freshman Matthew Wood found a streaking Justin Pearson who fired it top shelf to give UConn the two-goal lead. UConn's defense and goaltending would shut down UMass Lowell the rest of the period to give the Huskies the two-goal lead heading into the break.

UMass Lowell cut the UConn lead in half early in the second period as Scout Truman fired a shot that would sneak past Sergeev. The Huskies responded three minutes later as freshman Tabor Heaslip muscled his way in front of the net and collected the rebound to give UConn the two-goal lead heading into the period break.

Heading into the last period UConn looked to fend off an offensive attack by the River Hawks. Freshman Arsenii Sergeev would make multiple kick saves to preserve the Huskies lead. UMass Lowell eventually found the back of the net courtesy of Zach Kaiser to cut the UConn lead once again to one. With time running out, UMass Lowell pulled their goaltender. With the goalie pulled, Ryan Tverberg sunk the empty netter to seal the win for the Huskies.
