CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- Senior netminder Gwyneth Philips pitched a 21-save shutout to lead the No. 8/7 Northeastern women's hockey team to a 2-0 victory over Boston College on Saturday afternoon at Conte Forum.
- In identical fashion to Friday's game, both teams were held off the scoresheet in the first period. Graduate student Alina Mueller then broke the scoreless deadlock in the second period with a goal at the 14:47 mark to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead. Graduate student Chloé Aurard claimed the assist on the goal.
- Senior Katy Knoll wasn't to be denied and closed out the scoring in the third frame to bring the final score to 2-0. Junior Abbey Marohn and Mueller were credited with the helpers.
- Philips posted her fifth shutout of the season and second in as many games against the Eagles.
- Overall, the Huskies led in shots, 29-21, including a 14-5 edge in the third period.
The Huskies have a short turnaround and will travel to No. 10 Providence on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m.
