Orono, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team goes 2-0 against Holy Cross with a 4-1 victory Friday afternoon.

First Goal (0-1 Holy Cross): Just two minutes into the game, Holy Cross would score first on the power play. Kailey Langefels would find Bryn Saarela up the ice who then passed it to Alexia Moreau for the one timer goal.

Second Goal (1-1 Maine): Maine would answer back with a power play goal of their own just 3:49 into the contest. Grace Heiting would pass the puck over to Ida Kuoppala who then passed it over to Elise Morphy who shot the puck directly into the back of the net to tie the game.

Third Goal (2-1 Maine): 11:10 into the second period Maine would take the lead with another power play goal. Alyssa Wruble passed the puck through two defenders to find Mira Seregély open in front of the net who found the back of the net. Lilli Welcke also picked up an assist.

Fourth Goal (3-1 Maine): The Black Bears would score their third power play goal of the game 13:25 into the third period. Mira Seregély passed the puck across the ice to Lilli Welcke who had a shot go wide to the right side of the net. Here the puck found Luisa Welcke who wrapped around the net for the goal.

Fifth Goal (4-1 Maine): Luisa Welcke would score back to back goals to give Maine its fourth. Elise Morphy skated up the ice passing the puck to Ava Stevenson who had a beautiful back handed pass to Luisa Welcke for the score.

Brooklyn Oakes picked up 22 saves in net for the win and Anna LaRose got four saves in net of her own in the third period.

For Holy Cross, Madison Beck ended with 37 saves.
