Junior goaltender Devon Levi sets new Northeastern record with 12 career shutouts

DURHAM, N.H. -- The No. 16 Northeastern Huskies completed the weekend sweep over the New Hampshire Wildcats with a 3-0 shutout on Saturday night.

- Devon Levi, with 33 saves for a 3-0 shutout, made program history by setting a new Huskies record with 12 career shutouts in only a season and a half of action. In completing the sweep, Levi picked up his sixth win of the season.

- A hat trick wasn't enough for Justin Hryckowian who kicked off scoring for the Huskies in the final minutes of the opening period. On the power-play, Hryckowian notched his first goal of the night on a redirect off assists from Gunnarwolfe Fontaine and Aidan McDonough.

- Fontaine followed suit and got in on the scoring action just a minute later with a one-timer from the slot, picking up his second point of the night.

- With a scoreless second period, Hryckowian tallied the final goal of the game at the 4:16 mark in the final frame for his second goal of the night. Jayden Struble and Cam Lund picked up assists on the goal.

- With a two-point night, Hryckowian extended his point streak to ten points in five games which included a five goal, six point weekend against the Wildcats.

- In his 100th career game, McDonough added to his point streak as well with seven points in three games. In addition, Alex Mella laced up his skates for his first game of the season.

Northeastern is back in action next weekend with another home-and-home this time against the Boston College Eagles. The Huskies will host the Eagles at Matthews Arena on Friday night before heading off to Kelley Rink on Saturday evening.
