NORTH ANDOVER, MASS - The Merrimack College Warriors women's hockey team took the lead three different times, wee able to score their third win in four games as they outlasted the Crusaders of Holy Cross by a score of 3-2 on a late Saturday afternoon at Lawler Rink.

Merrimack got off to a perfect start, as they took the lead before the ten minute mark of the opening frame, as Emily Oosterveld scored her second goal in two games, with this one coming on the powerplay.

Holy Cross would tie the game with a powerplay goal of their own,with that goal coming at 6:31 of the secon period.

The Warriors would fire back into the lead five minutes when once again the Warriors would take advantage of second chance opportunities as Madison Oelkers would score on a rebound at 11:39 of period two.

The Warriors seemed set to carry the lead into the locker room, but the Crusaders would strike late in the second, scoring with 28 seconds remaining on the score clock.

Merrimack however, would battle back again as it was the reigning Hockey East player of the week Katie Kaufman who put the Warriors back in front at 4:10 of the third period.

Holy Cross would appear to tie the game with 1:30 to play, but Coach Hamlen's challenge was successful, and the goal was overturned.

Merrimack would then spend the last 52 seconds killing off a penalty and they would capture the victory.

Katie Kaufman would nab a goal and assist, her 10th and 11th points of the season.

Madison Oelkers and Emily Oosterveld would both score in this game and both would score in both games this weekend.

Oelkers also had an assist in the game.

Hannah Corneliusen, Natalie Nemes, Ally Qualley and Raice Szott would all get one assist each.

Calli Hogarth captured her second win of the year with a 29 save effort.
