STORRS, Conn. - The women's ice hockey team took game one in a two-game series against No. 15 Boston College by a score of 1-0 Friday night.

Period 1: The Huskies got off to a strong start in the first period. Under a minute into the game, Coryn Tormala stormed down the ice finding an open Jada Habisch who would knock in the first goal of the night. UConn would continue to apply heavy pressure as they ended the first with 13 shots on goal to Boston College's three. At the end of the first, the score remained 1-0.

Period 2: In the second period, UConn would continue to apply pressure lifting their total shots on goal to 24. With Boston College also applying pressure, Tia Chan would remain strong making 12 saves. As the second period rolled on, the Huskies and the Eagles would rely more on their defense although the score remained the same at the end of the period.

Period 3: UConn kept it steady throughout the third period continuously attacking the defensive line. The Huskies would then get the power play but could not execute as Boston College would make the penalty kill. UConn's defense would close out the game strong and hold No. 15 Boston College scoreless. The Huskies finished the game with 30 shots on goal as they would come away with the 1-0 victory.
