BOSTON -- No. 8 Northeastern, led by a four-point game from captain Aidan McDonough, secured the weekend sweep over the Vermont Catamounts with a 5-0 shutout in their opening weekend of the Hockey East schedule.

- Senior Aidan McDonough tallied four points on the evening, with two goals and two assists. McDonough has tallied five points in the last two games for the Huskies.

- Justin Hryckowian not only picked up his first goal of the season but added a second late in middle frame of the game. Hryckowian put Northeastern on the board first early in the opening period before finishing his night with his second goal assisted by Braden Doyle.

- With his lone goal of the evening, Gunnarwolfe Fontaine became the tenth Husky to score for Northeastern on the season. With two-points on the evening, recording an assist on Hryckowian's first goal, Fontaine now has four points over the last two games.

- Two more Huskies recorded their first points of the season in tonight's victory. Senior Jeremie Bucheler claimed his first point with an assist on McDonough's and the Huskies final goal of the night. Freshman Jackson Dorrington tallied two points, the first and second of his career, with two assists.

- Devon Levi secured his first shutout of the season with the 5-0 win over the Catamounts, finishing with 23 saves on 23 shots.

The Huskies continue their home stint next Saturday, Oct. 15 as the host the Providence Friars at 7:30 p.m.
