BOSTON- For the second game in a row, Maureen Murphy posted a hat trick to lead the No. 5 Northeastern women's hockey team to an 8-1 victory over the Maine Black Bears on Friday evening at Matthews Arena.

Chloé Aurard and Skylar Fontaine each posted four-point games for the Huskies, while Maddie Mills, Katy Knoll, Brooke Hobson and Mia Brown all tallied multi-point performances. Goaltender Aerin Frankel picked up her 19th win of the season and the 70th win of her Hockey East career. With 70 wins in Hockey East play, Aerin Frankel has tied Boston College's Katie Burt for most career Hockey East wins.

- Murphy scored the opening goal of the game in the first period, marking her ninth straight goal for the Huskies she's either scored or assisted on over the past three games.

- Just 34 seconds later Katie Cipra scored her third goal of the season to double up the Huskies lead and close out the opening frame leading 2-0.

- Murphy then scored her second goal of the game in the opening five minutes of the second period to give Northeastern a 3-0 lead. With assists from Katy Knoll and again from Aurard.

- Maine wouldn't be denied in the second period as the Black Bears got their first of the game to come within two goals of the home team.

- Following the lone Black Bear goal, Northeastern lit the lamp twice more before the end of the second with Katy Knoll and Aurard scoring.

- In the third period, Aurard tallied her second straight power play goal to give the Huskies their third power play goal of the night. Murphy then scored to claim her hat trick and Mills closed out the scoring to bring the final to 8-1.

- Aerin Frankel picked up the win with 13 saves, while Alexa Matses came on in the final 4:38 of the game in relief and made eight saves.

- Northeastern outshot the Black Bears 44-22.
