DURHAM, N.H. - Senior forward Filip Engarås (Stockholm, Sweden) notched his fourth goal of the season with 49.3 seconds left in overtime to lift the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team to a 3-2 victory on Saturday night against Holy Cross at the Whittemore Center Arena.

The Wildcats improve to .500 for the first time this season with a 7-7-1 overall mark after their third consecutive victory, while the Crusaders drop to 3-12-1 overall.

"It wasn't perfect, it wasn't pretty, you have to give Holy Cross a lot of credit, obviously I thought they battled hard, they played right until the end," said UNH head coach Mike Souza. "I didn't think we were as detailed we had been, at times we made the game difficult on ourselves, but a win is a win. You win a weekend, as we talked about in college hockey you have to win weekends and we found a way to get a win in overtime with a big time play by Filip."

Holy Cross tied the game on an extra attacker goal with their goalie pulled with two minutes left in the third period on a goal by Bobby Young, which was his first tally of the season.

Senior goaltender Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) stopped 20 shots in his fifth win of the season for the Wildcats, while Matt Radomsky tallied 24 saves to fall to 2-6-1 in net for Holy Cross.

Senior forward Tyler Ward's (Kamloops, British Columbia) power play goal gave the 'Cats the 2-1 lead in the second stanza at 9:29.

Lucas Thorne opened the scoring in the game at 1:41 of the first period, but the 'Cats tied it less than six minutes later on freshman forward Will Margel's (Potomac, Md.) first collegiate tally in a Wildcat uniform.

Jackson Pierson (Zionsville, Ind.) won 14-of-22 faceoffs (64%) for the 'Cats on the night.

UNH went 1-for-4 on the power play and went a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

The Wildcats return to action on Friday, December 3 at Boston University. Game time from Agganis Arena is 7:30 p.m. streamed on College Sports Live. For tickets go to UNHWildcats.com, call 603-862-4000 or visit the Whittemore Center box office in person.
