Notes

- A strong opening period saw the Friars hold a 15-8 shot advantage against the host Bulldogs.

- Jaxson Stauber kept the game scoreless with two highlight reel stops after a turnover gave the Bulldogs a clean breakaway from the Providence blue line.

- Patrick Moynihan opened the scoring with his second of the season to put the Friars up 1-0. Guillaume Richard and Chase Yoder assisted on the play as Moynihan slipped a backhand shot past Ryan Fanti.

- UMD knotted the game up just 1:28 into the middle period on a Jesse Jacques goal.

- The Bulldogs grabbed a 2-1 lead midway through the period as Dominic James fired a feed from Quinn Olson past Stauber at the near post.

- Brett Berard drew the Friars even in the opening seconds of the third period on the power play, firing a wrist shot into the top right corner of the net for the sophomore's fifth goal in five games this year. Nick Poisson earned his sixth assist of the season on the play.

- UMD's Noah Cates regained the lead for the Bulldogs 2:50 later with a wrap-around goal to put the hosts up 3-2.

- The Friars had their chances down the stretch, but Fanti shut the door in the closing seconds with the Friars pressing.
